Roger is 45 years old. He is married, lives in a quiet village and commutes to work every weekday. He feels a little unsettled and not fully part of his local community because he leaves early in the morning and gets home late in the evening.

Roger has always been interested in health and social care issues, and he heard about the LINk from a fellow passenger on the train. It interested Roger that as a member he didn’t have to attend meetings, and that he could make a contribution by using his experience to respond to consultations and surveys on the website.

As a LINk member Roger feels part of an organisation which understands that members can contribute in many different ways. He feels valued and he is learning about something he enjoys. He says, “It’s the part you play that counts”, and everyone can do something to help.
