Christopher is in his late 20’s and he has a learning disability. He was thrilled when he was able to move from living with his mum, to be more independent in sheltered accommodation.

Christopher is very sociable and active in his community. He belongs to lots of clubs, including a club for young disabled people.

At a meeting, he heard about the work of the LINk. He wanted to ensure that disabled people were represented, so he asked the Chairman if his group could join as a member, as well as signing up himself for invidividual membership.

Christopher loves to receive regular updates about LINk activities, and he has a slot on the agenda at several clubs, to update the members on what is happenning.

Christopher has become a respected member. He has been nominated by his club to stand in the election for the LINk Core Group to represent local disabled people. He is hoping that enough people will vote for him, so he can speak up on behalf of disabled people and say, “It’s your turn” now.
