Social Care is too convoluted. New carers find it very confusing. There are different agencies. How does one relate to the other? Are they totally seperste organisations. How does Crossroads relate to Suffolk Family Carers? And how does SFCs relate to Social Services.? Who do I go to for what? A comprehensive and easy to assess would be a great help.

Customer First allegedly gives you all the details. It does not. Staff dont know who to put you through to. They have no idea what a carers assessment is or how to get one organised. The link between the council and other organisations is not clear. Who is meant to help me? How do I access care?

I too was in the position of waiting for a carers assessment and despite many phone calls it took me three years to get one.Instead of being seen as one of a multitude of carers who save the taxpayers countless millions of pounds every year I was made to feel as if caring was a vocation and that I was wasting carer direct's valuable time
