I have heard that older people with dementia are not treated with respect or dignity in the James Paget. My uncle witnessed a rude nurse being unkind to an old lady. I thought the Dignity in Care campaign was meant to train staff to handle people suffering with dementia with extra care? Isn't it odd that most nurses these days have degrees but are not able to give basic care and consideration?

Have you thought about talking to the hospital about your concerns. Or if you or a relative see someone being treated like this again have a word with the nurse about the care she is giving she needs to know other peopl are watching what she is doing and realise the bad name she is giving to nurses and the hospital.

I am worried that the nursing staff will treat my relatives in the same way if I complain. Why is it that some staff have no patience?
